Brixi is more than just a shop - it’s a bright and friendly place of self- expression, beautiful art and all things a bit odd.
Imagine finding a museum where you can get up close and personal with the art. Imagine a place crammed with works of art like nothing you’ve ever seen before. Imagine somewhere that aspires to be the best possible kind of eccentric. That place is Brixi — an art gallery, junk shop and curiosity shop all in one. Brixi began as passion project and was opened by owner, Emy, as a way of representing artists and showing off their incredible creations to the world. It is still sticking strongly to its roots to this day and is a wonderful mishmash and treasure trove of shop and art gallery.
Emy’s personal aesthetic is bright and colourful which, like bright colours usually do, shines within the shop too. At just four square metres, the space is brimming with oddities and curiosities — from gorgeous jewellery to delicate hand-blown vases all the way from Paris, vintage pieces to miniature scenes inside walnuts that customers literally go nuts for. Even the window display is a work of art, as they collaborate with different artists and makers every month to create a visual feast for your eyes, guaranteed to entice you inside to the heart of the shop. Every nook of Brixi radiates uniqueness; they strive to have products that have never been seen before, hunting down new products at every possible opportunity, and everything that’s on sale is there for a reason with a compelling, adventure filled backstory to go with it.
It is more than just a shop — it’s a strange and whimsical experience that you’ll want more of with every visit.
It’s a shop full of stuff I love that has been made by people I like. Emy Gray
