Get (and shop) creative in North Street's crafty heaven
Trylla: it means 1) to enchant 2) to turn something into a troll.
There's no better name for summing up the inspiring but fun atmosphere that Alice Astbury, a maker with a love of anything a bit off-beat, has created with her independent design shop on North Street.
A trained ceramicist and illustrator, Alice makes many of Trylla's items in her basement studio below the shop. Pots for plants, hand-sewn clothes, retro toys and homeware are just some of the special gifts you can take home with you.
Whether you fancy popping by for a macramé workshop or to pick up a beautiful handmade craft to inject some fun into your living room - come and spend some time among the rainbow displays at Trylla.
Trylla is a platform for myself and other artists in the area to showcase their work and also to provide the facilities for them to produce their work. I want to create a fun, relaxed, affordable environment in which people can come to learn art and craft-based skills. Alice Astbury, Owner
