Oliver's Coffee House
A casual and quirky destination for a slice of Sherborne's history and great coffee
From starting life as a butchers in 1884, to becoming a dairy bottling plant, the location which is now home to Oliver’s Coffee House has seen it all. Surviving numerous uses and refurbishments, the coffee shop boasts original Art Deco design features. Enter through a solid teak carved shop front and walk across original tiles to a quiet seat for two under one of the arches or join in with the fun and sit on the large communal table or bar where locals like to gather.
The food is traditional fare which can cater for the whole family. Jacket potatoes, salads, ciabattas and toasties are firm lunchtime favourites with plenty of cakes on offer too. Oliver's also offers a range of cakes made without gluten or dairy, just ask!
The coffee is sourced locally from Reads of Sherborne and much of the fillings for sandwiches and their light lunches come from local butchers, farms and dairies.
A trip to Oliver’s is a friendly experience with great food and friendly service. Once known to be on the historical trail for local tour groups, the story behind each period detail only goes to enhance your experience of this Sherborne institution.
"The perfect place to stop for a cup of coffee and a homemade cake whilst perusing today's newspapers." Oliver's Coffee House
