The Slipped Stitch
Home to a range of haberdashery and craft supplies that’s right on the button.
When Millie’s passion for knitting and needlecraft outgrew her home, there was only one thing for it – open a shop!
These days you’ll find Millie at the top of Sherborne’s bustling Cheap Street. Formerly an inn, then a hospice, one of the town's oldest buildings is now home to The Slipped Stitch.
Here, you’ll discover a huge range of yarns from suppliers such as Sirdar, Stylecraft, Debbie Bliss and West Yorkshire Spinners, plus a host of haberdashery essentials; from ribbons to buttons and just about everything in between. Of course, as you’d expect from a quality independent, there’s great advice on offer too; so whether you’re a newcomer to crafting or a seasoned knitter looking for a new direction, Millie’s experience is sure to help you on your way. For those looking to pick up a new skill or two, there’s also a packed programme of workshops,
....machine embroidery, spinning, applique, needle felting and cushion making are just some of the crafts on offer in the welcoming surroundings of The Slipped Stitch.
“The Slipped Stitch is full of soft, squishy yarns – a knitter’s paradise!” Millie Furby, owner
