Celebrating the best of vintage and contemporary homewares and artworks
Margaret’s Buildings is one of Bath’s loveliest spots for independent shops and cafes. Take a short walk through this pretty little pedestrianised street and discover the beauty which caused business owner Vanessa to fall in love with the area, leading her to follow her dream of opening an interior design shop. Her boutique store celebrates the best of vintage and contemporary homewares and artworks. Homefront Interiors follows an ethos of sustainability, whether that means recycled materials, fairtrade origins, small-scale handmade production, or simply showing a little love and care to vintage finds rather than replacing them with something new. Vanessa is a self-confessed addict to the pot-luck thrill of flea markets, junk shops and auctions, where you never know quite what wonderful treasures and unexpected inspirations you might unearth. You can feel her spirit as you enter the shop, weaving between mesmeric displays of fair trade, vintage, upcycled and locally produced treasures.
Personally curated, the gorgeously eclectic selection of items on sale are perfect for the home, to wear or to give and receive as gifts. Homefront also offer workshops, inspiring locals to create their own pieces. Creative courses include learning the techniques to paint and distress furniture, designing lampshades to suit your own decor and knitting courses to suit your level of skill.
"At Homefront we love the juxtaposition of vintage and contemporary styles and stock exquisite handmade work from a number of local artists, including ceramics, textiles and jewellery." Vanessa, owner of Home Front Interiors
