Addictive vegetarian Indian street food
Any foodie in Bath knows the value of an authentic street food style kitchen when you’re on the go. We’re always looking for the kind of place that will impress and surprise guests when they visit the city and we think we’ve found it. Chai Walla is without a doubt the epitome of “that great little place” tucked into a small corner of Bath, where the service is quick and friendly and the food is bar none. You won't get authentic vegetarian Indian food like this except maybe in India. The owner’s mother has created nothing but the best recipes from age old classics. The onion bajis and wraps are famous to those in the know. If you go once, we can guarantee you’ll be back.
There is a reason why this is one of the most highly rated places to eat in Bath and a big part of their success in the personality of owner Niraj, a young entrepreneur with a talent for big flavours and a warm welcome. Take the inevitable queue outside his shop as a sign of good food, not slow service. Though there isn’t space for seating at Chai Walla, there’s often a bench outside the shop front. We recommend taking your food over the road to the seating in Kingsmead Square, where you can enjoy the atmosphere of an iconic Bath community.
